IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jesse "Bruce"
Mitchell
February 13, 1964 – January 16, 2011
Jesse "BRUCE"
as he was affectionately known by his family and friends blessed the
union of Jesse L and Clarine "Sue" Mitchell with his arrival on February 13,1964.
Later in life, he married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Wilson in 1984; to that
union two sons were born and in his later years he was also the father of a daughter.
Jesse "BRUCE" attended Northeast High School and graduated in 1982 where he
enjoyed sports, music and socializing as well as disassembling any stereo that crossed
his path. Bruce was consistently sneaking his boombox to school to entertain his
friends. It was during this time that his true love of playing music and entertaining
began. It was after high school that he joined the US Army but was unable to fulfill
his dream of serving his country due to circumstances beyond his control. During this
period, he joined the White Oak Grove family and participated through the male
chorus and usher board. His interest in music would lead him to set-up sound systems for several area churches and businesses. As his skills progressed, he worked at WNAA, 90.1 as a late night DJ. After furthering his knowledge and skills, he started his own company - Unique Lights, Sound and I)J Service. He later tested and got his Commercial Drivers License and drove trucks.
