Obituary

Mrs. Shirley Maxine Carter McCain, of 1406 Mayfair Avenue, died on July 22, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 3:00pm at Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy 150, Brown Summit, NC. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00pm at the church.

A native of Guilford County, she was employed as a cafeteria worker for Guilford County Schools. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Mr. William Robert McCain, of the home., four sons; Jerry McCain, of Tilley,NC, Charles McCain, of Greensboro, John McCain, of Reidsville, and William McCain, of Brown Summit. One special son, Kenneth "Cracker Jack" Boyd of Greensboro. Three daughters; Mrs. Rose Hill (Mike), of Reidsville, Ms. Sherline McCain, of Brown Summit, and Mrs. Wilma Harris (Ervin), of Greensboro. One brother, Mr. Leo Carter (Grace), of Greensboro. Two sisters; Mrs. Cleo Foust (Alfred), and Ms Ernestine Carter, both of Greensboro. Brother-in-law, Paul McCain (Betty), of Brown-Summit, and sister-in-law, Ms. Irene Reid, of Worcester, MA. 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.
