Malcolm Davis Brooks, 64, while sleeping found his eternal rest on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at his residence.
Malcolm, affectionately known as "Mac", was born in Siler City, NC of Chatham County to the proud parents of the late Billy J. Brooks and Mary D. Brooks on December 25,1955.
At a young age, Mac attended and was baptized at St. James Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. He was a very bright student, gifted athlete, and graduate of Walter Hines Page High School in Greensboro, NC. He served on the Student Council and was an outstanding member of the Page Pirates Football Team. Mac was also an excellent card and chess player, and he loved playing basketball as a pastime recreational sport. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army for 4 years of honorable service (1976-1980) as a Corporal Administrative Specialist. More than his military occupational specialty (MOS) as an Office Clerk, Mac overly enjoyed his collateral duties as the Sports Event Programs Manager and as a playing participant. On Friday, May 22, 2020, visitation for he public will be held from 2pm-5pm in the Chapel. A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Allen and Associates Mortuary Cremation Chapel 508 Summit Ave., Greensboro NC. Visitation with the family begins at 12:30 pm followed by the service at 1:00pm. Mr. Malcolm Davis Brooks will receive full Military Honors at a later date in Salisbury National Cemetery Park.
