Turner O'Hara Wiley

Mr. Turner O. Wiley, A devoted and loving father, brother, and exemplary friend to all, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 3, 2022 in Greensboro, NC.

Turner was born August 4, 1951, to the late Archie O'Hara Wiley and Ruth Mae McCottry Wiley and was raised in Madison, NC. Turner attended the Charles R. Drew High School in Madison, NC until 10th grade year, when he and several others chose to integrate that school system by transferring to the Madison-Mayodan School System. Upon graduation, Turner enrolled at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and graduated with a degree in information Technology and Automotive Engineering.

Turner was a dedicated employee of United Parcel Service (UPS), where he served as a delivery driver and shop steward. He is also highly regarded for his fighting spirit as a member of the Teamsters Union in which he advocated for employee rights, improving workplace condition, and combating racial injustices. Turner retired from UPS after 25 years of memorable and honorable service.

Turner is survived by his only daughter, Angail Wiley of Greensboro, NC and his eldest sister, Andrea Powell of Richmond, VA. a 99 year-old aunt, Cynthia McCottry Smith of Charleston, SC and a host of cousins and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at New Jerusalem Cathedral, 1822 Sharpe Road, Greensboro, NC 27406. The Wiley family will receive guess from 12:30 - 1:00  pm.

The Wiley family has entrusted the funeral service to Allen and Associates Mortuary / Cremation, LLC.  

NOTE: Doe to power outage at New Jerusalem Cathedral the service of Mr. Turner O' Wiley will be held at Equation Church 901 Board Ave. Greensboro NC 27406. Saturday October 1, 2022. Visitation will began at 2:00 pm followed by the service at 2:30 pm.
